85% of the nutrients is farmed out of the soil today, we get only 15% of the nutrients we should be from the produce. Not to mention so much of our food is toxic today, full of sugar and GMO products. Many vegetables and fruits don't have the normal nutrients either as most farms monocrop. If you look at the nutrition facts for most food, you'll see many have a few vitamins and minerals, but they'll be in such trace amounts that it's essentially nothing. Many toxic foods are sold by how much "vitamins" they have, when its almost always synthetic vitamins.
It was shown early on that Vitamin D deficiency was a major factor in the severity of COVID, here is a more recent article on the matter. Vitamin D isn't really a vitamin, its a hormone that is vital to your body functioning correctly, especially the immune system. The best source of vitamin D is the sun, its free and easily available. There are many health problems caused by lack of nutrients, including iron, iodine, calcium, and magnesium. The vitamins most commonly lacking are A, B12, D, and K, which all are actually hormones and critical to the body.
I detail more information on this below, but it simply can't be stated enough. Many supplements have multiple toxic chemicals which not only negate the positive impacts, but lead to worse health than before.
If you look below at the list of toxic ingredients in supplements, and go look at the supplements at any retail store, you'll see almost all of them listed on the shelves. Avoid these at all costs, do your research when buying supplements. Not only are there usually toxic ingredients, they're usually poor quality, contain less than what the label says, or derived from synthetic sources. It's critical to take good supplements, especially when we don't get what we need from our diets anymore. Many of these supplements today contain toxic ingredients, usually under "other ingredients" that generally unnecessary for the supplement and just cause harm to the body. Some of these toxins include:
Silicon dioxide, silica, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, aspartame, vitamin C, citric acid, maltodextrin, lactic acid, monosodium glutamate (MSG), high fructose corn syrup, yeast products, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, sucrose, flavorings, sodium ascorbate, ascorbic acid, molasses, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, and various heavy metals, and all sugars, artificial or natural.
This list is not everything, be sure to research your supplement ingredients, and food ingredients too.
Yes I know, that is a lot, there are even more but are less common. A lot of vitamins, especially gummies and chewables, contain a lot of sugar, or artificial sugars which are much worse. So many of these toxins make many vitamins and supplements worse than taking nothing. Just like everything else today, you must do your homework to consume healthy products. Next time you go to buy vitamins or supplements, look at the other ingredients and see how many of the toxins above are in there, if you to somewhere like Wal-Mart it'll be almost all of them.
